HISTORY
- Frankfurt Ctrams: Horse trams (19 May 1872 - 1904); Steam trams (1888 - 1929); Electric trams (10 Apr. 1884 - today).
- Bad Homburg trams (electric from the beginning): 22 July 1899 - 1 Aug. 1935. (some stretches were taken over by the Frankfurt system)
- Offenbach trams (electric from the beginning): 10 Apr. 1884 - 1963.
- U-Bahn: Oct. 1968 - today.
GAUGE
- Frankfurt trams: 1435 mm. (some trams 1884-1905, 1000 mm.)
- Bad Homburg trams: 1435 mm.
- Offenbach trams: (1884-1906) 1000 mm.; (1906-1963): 1435 mm.
TRAM PRESERVATION
The Verkehrsmuseum Frankfurt am Main (Frankfurt Transport Museum) has a large collection of preserved trams from throughout the history of the city's transportation history. Some of them run as heritage trams on city streets.
