- The Gemini 8-Meter Telescopes Project

Two state-of-the-art 8-meter telescopes are under construction, one
for the northern and one for the southern skies. The northern telescope, on Mauna Kea in
Hawaii, will see first light in 1998, and the southern telescope, on Cerro Pachon in
Chile, in 2000.

Site-Testing Observatory (AASTO) US Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station, within a
few hundred metres of the exact geographic South Pole (its precise latitude is -89°59').

National University, Weston, ACT, Australia and the Center for Astrophysical Research
in Antarctica (CARA), University of Chicago, Chicago, IL, USA. Includes a web camera.
